Incorporating elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Meridian Theory, my intention for this class is to offer ways for us to move through the year working with our Scottish seasons. Classes flow between breath work, meditation practices and asana that support our whole selves as we navigate both our external and internal weather systems.
The emphasis shifts as we move through the year, working with the five elements and their corresponding seasons - Water (Winter), Wood (Spring), Fire (Summer), Earth (Late Summer), Metal (Autumn) - working with the meridian lines associated with those seasons.
I draw on the words and wisdom of some of my favourite writers and thinkers, and create a light and reflective environment to help us turn inwards - maybe even shifting some of our perspectives, our stuckness, our stories and patterns.

A gentle class, particularly suitable if you’re looking to break up your working day or have caring responsibilities that make it harder to attend in person classes.
Opening with a relaxing breathing practice, this slower paced but challenging class will build strength, increase flexibility and improve your balance. Expect some longer holds in amongst the flows to build resilience and the ability to sit with difficult sensations.
You will need a mat, a cushion and a blanket for final relaxation. I may occasionally suggest additional props but you will be given ample time to collect anything you may need. If you don’t have blocks, a strap and a bolster, books, a belt and a stack of pillows will work perfectly.
